Both of us were feeling creatively frustrated and we knew we needed to make something to get over the uninspired slump that we had been stuck in. So, we looked back at the films and directors that inspire us and the work of Jean-Luc Godard and the French New Wave movement came to mind.
What excited us most about using the New Wave movement as a guide for this visual experiment was the idea of making something out of nothing and taking all the restrictions that we had and turning those on their head to make an environment that fit our project perfectly.
The shoot ended up being so relaxed and fun and we truly credit Heather and Brittnee for their willingness to go along with the ideas we pitched to them! Both actors were able to dive right in and create wonderful chemistry with the camera that shines throughout the entire video.
The project was spontaneous but it was a great reminder that sometimes it's invigorating just to create for the sake of it. To get out and make something simply because you can.
ARLO: THE ASSASSIN
Made with just $300, a small crew and a lot of imagination, this is an homage to 80's Cinema and Sci-Fi B-Movies.
Created as a test for a possible web series.
Set in 2053, Arlo: The Assassin is an 80's style, lo-fi, cyberpunk action short where the streets are rough and the stakes are high. Arlo has been given his latest mark, The Grinning Girl - and she's not going down without a fight.

We were given the opportunity to collaborate and create both photos and video for Jess Kovic and her creative brand, Sugar Bunch.
The idea for the shoot was to create something reminiscent of Blade Runner - 80's retro, but still futuristic and slightly funky.

INDIGO - A LOOK BACK
In 2012, we pulled together a group of great people and made our first feature film, Indigo. It was filmed on our weekends off from work, in locations that Meghan was able to get for free because we had no budget.
It was big, ambitious and in the end, it may have been too much for us at the time.
Today, Indigo still sits on a few hard drives and occasionally we go back and try to put the pieces together.
Even unfinished, Indigo is something that we’ll always hold dear to us. It was a massive learning experience and a gateway to many great friendships.
This is a love letter to that film.
Special thanks to Jonathon Tracy, Trisha Zarate, Gabe Saenz, Morgan Pyles & Rolando Herrera.
SLICE OF LIFE
Chopped together from the remnants of behind the scene moments, Slice of Life is an experiment trying to capture the mundane, day-to-day tasks and highlight them with a slightly romanticized twist.
